Half Blood Prince is awesome!
I'm not saying it's perfect because
there's defintely parts which make me go "?" and "!"
but I can definitely see the efforts to stick
as closely to the book as possible
(after being blasted horribly that OOTP was
way off the print lol).
I know that there's people out there saying how much it sucked and all that shit? These humans, obviously, lacked the ability to judge for themselves. I've been reading what others have to say about the movie by googling and I see this comment gazillion times.
Phrased in my own words, "HBP is the worst movie I've seen in the series! I read so many good reviews about the movie and I expected so much! But the movie sucked like the rest!!"
...
...
...
CRAZY RIGHT.
Since when are the people so gullible to believe
everything they read?!
Since when huh since when.
Their own problems that they expected so much can.
Nobody planted the expectations in the brain lor.
Siao.
"HBP is the worst movie I've seen in the series!" People've been saying for almost six years already, ever since Prisoner of Azkaban came out. So make up your mind please, are the movies getting worse by the minute, or all these people say it for the sake of saying it just because of a tiny and negligable amount of displeasure?
"But the movie sucked like the rest!!" So according to them, being let down by all the previous installments, hasn't taught them anything at all and they are stupidly naive enough to believe that this movie's gonna rock their world all of a sudden like.. Magic.
Sorry, shit pun but true.
And then some self-proclaimed Harry Potter fan started going "Don't even talk about being a fan of HP if you've never read the book you effing retard! You have no idea what you are talking about," when she's talking about herself.
And I quote from her, "Take for example the part where Bellatrix & Death Eater gang appeared at Wesleys house and created a fire crop circle thing and chased them around. How come I don't remember that part at all? Can someone englighten me and point out which chapter it was from?"
Zzz to the epitome can. If you really are a Harry Potter fan, you would know that the scene's a representation of what the Death Eaters' countless attacks. By burning down The Burrow, it gives the movie-watchers a more in-depth pacing who did not read the books. Watching the scene from Harry's point of view is more expressive than looking at some unknown people's houses being burnt from the news reports. I know I sounded technical but .. Zzz.
And she mispelt Weasley. Honest mistake for a HP fan or she never really knew the correct spelling for the word? There's always the benefit of doubt there so I'm not going to get all worked up about it.
Also, "Or what about the Death Eaters wreacking havoc in muggle world, fucking up the bridge and all? WHAT'S THE OUTCOME?????"
The blasting of Millenium Bridge in the movie act as a representation of all the Death Eaters' doings in the book. It is to signify that the rise of Voldemort does not only cause detrimental impacts on the wizarding community, but to the muggles as well.
All these are in the first chapter, and the bridge part is in the first page somemore lor. So you might want to ask JKR herself for the answer to that question of yours.
And here comes, "Also, I really hated the stupid lovey dovey parts! Honestly, who the fuck wants to watch Ron and some random chick snogging? I'd rather watch Ron & Hermione get together and in the end nothing much happened between them also! Just flirting, sort of, WTF?"
Me. I really want to watch Ron and Lavender embrace each other because I think they are really cute together. This is my honest opinion okay -.- And about Ron and Hermione ended up with pretty much nothing is also written by JKR in the sixth book what. Shall I pose the same question as you did: Can someone englighten me and point out that this isn't from the book?
Even though I agree with her that I wished the producers paid more attention to Dumbledore's funeral, instead of just lighting the wand at the Dark Mark in the sky, which by the way, looks magnificent.
(P.S. I've nothing against the blogger, only the comments she made. She has always been nice enough and I really do enjoy reading her blog and I still do. And she's pretty! Okay I know being pretty or not has got nothing to do with this discussion. I just don't like how the comments were being posted, it's like challenging the rest of the population who loves the movie, like me. I know everyone's got their freedom of speech and so do I.)
And I know that there are people who are disappointed by the film. I don't have any problem with them because there's nothing anyone can do to please the entire population of the world right? What pisses me of is the way some people choose their words, it's as if they don't have the enough amount of brains to do so.
For me, I don't really know what to say about the movie honestly, there's so many things about Harry Potter going through my head that I can't think straight. Like I've said at the top of this post, I admit that some parts do make me go "?" and "!" even though they are not nessesarily bad.
Like the inferi scene, those little creatures look abit like Gollum and I was giggling when at least half of the cinema have not overcome their shock when we were startled by the sound effect.
And about Draco! It was never explicitly stated in the book that he has already been branded by Dark Mark.
But since, JKR approved the script personally (this should shut a hell load of people up :D), I think that Draco has indeed, joined his father as a fellow Death Eater. JKR is one who take her series seriously and she doesn't approve the script blindly. For example in the original script, Dumbledore once had a line about how he's got a crush on some girl but was corrected by JKR, stating that our dear old Dumbly's gay.
I was abit surprised by how good looking Cormac is (so I approve of Hermione's choice definitely) and how Fenrir looked like Filch. And for the record, Dave Legeno is really quite handsome too for a 46 year old!
About Dumbledore's funeral, like what I've stated, I was looking forward to it but the moment where Fawkes appeared, I know it's gonna get cut ):
Lastly, about the appearance of Cho Chang. I don't see her anywhere in the film? Is it just my eyes or what? I thought she'll be the one who got cursed by the necklace because Katie was signed on for the sixth installment, much to her surprise and mine, because the number of times Cho appeared in the book was abit depressing. Then the trailer came out, and it was Katie Bell who got cursed, just like what happened in the book and I was like "Maybeeee Cho's gonna replace Leann?" But no leh, Leann's still Leann in the movie ._.
But I was really happy with how the rest of the film went! Pacing's good for me, cinematography by Bruno Delbonnel is amazing as well, the cast acted brilliantly in the film. I particularly enjoyed Jessie Cave and Jim Broadbent!
And needless to say, Tom Felton is well loved by all of us. For the rest of the population, HBP gave us opportunity to discover Draco's inner feelings, hidden by the shell of the annoying twerp he was and it was so sad. Really really sad. For me, I've always been a major fan of Tom and nobody would disagree with me, always loved him more than the other casts and I finally understood my obsession of him. He's a darn good performer, acting and singing as well, and has always been breath taking (if you can say that about a boy). Everytime he appears on screen, something inside me twitched. Even if he only appeared in a news clipping.
I heart Draco. Yay (':
P.S. I might not make sense to some but really, a suspected H1N1 patient who's burning at 39 degrees when typing out this post is highly emotional and easily agitated. Especially when she's talking about something she's highly devoted in.
